2. Recruitment Policy
2.1 Objective:
The objective of this policy is to ensure a streamlined recruitment process in identifying and hiring best qualified candidates for all positions.
2.2 Applicability:
All new recruits in all grades.
2.3 Policy
2.3.1 Application
The approved recruitment policy will be a pre-requisite for all recruitment at SSNT online LTD.
2.3.2 Job Descriptions
The Chief Assessor is to prepare a detailed job description for the position to be filled up, in consultation with other team members.
2.3.2.1 Chief Verifier Job Description
Quality Assurance Officer responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the provisions laid down in the Small Commercial Vessel Safety Code, as well as other policies and provisions of the NTATT are adhered to;
- Promoting, supporting and monitoring implementation of relevant nautical training policies and strategies’
- Providing advice, input, support and monitoring in quality assurance development, management and implementation at SSNT;
- Conducting internal audits and reviews to look into the quality of learning and teaching as well as the educational leadership, by reviewing relevant documentation, lesson observations, interviewing assessors, learners and employers and distributing and reviewing questionnaires to the Stakeholders.
- Preparing detailed reports that highlight SSNT’s strengths and indicating areas which need improvement;
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and business planning;
- Gathering, analysing, researching and evaluating data and using it to plan and manage services, projects and systems;
- Evaluating and ensuring the quality and standards of educational leadership and management, teaching and learning and ethos at SSNT Colleges and writing reports thereupon;
- Planning and being able to provide effective feedback to facilitate SSNT’s Improvement;
- Networking with accreditation and approving bodies and inspectorates.
2.3.2.2 Chief Assessor Job Description
Chief Instructor responsibilities include:
- Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data
- Establish and monitor procedures for record keeping
- Receive and record general customer inquiries and complaints
- Register students online
- Coordinate schedule, appointments and bookings
- Prepare and distribute distance-learning material, certificates and transcripts
- Developing standards and promote activities that enhance operational procedures
- Allocate available resources to enable successful task performance
- Coordinate with stakeholders
- Coordinate with Personal Tutors and Onboard Trainers
- Recruit office staff and provide orientation and training to new employees
- Receive and record student inquiries and complaints about LMS websites and YouTube channel
- Ensuring that boats hired/engaged and ports used for practical instruction are licenced for the area of operation
- Recruit technical staff and provide orientation and training to new employees
- Receive and record student inquiries and complaints about learning material
- Receive and record instructor inquiries and complaints about learning material
- Monitor students online activity and results
- Approve student certification
- Review and amend learning material in relation to current STCW requirements for OOW 500GT
- Allocate available resources to enable successful task performance
- Recruit instructors and provide orientation and training to new employees
2.3.3 Exceptions
Any departure from the Recruitment policy will need special approval from the Chief Assessor.
