PASSENGER SHIP CROWD MANAGEMENT
STUDENT MANUAL
This course is for people already working in crew boat operations. Students who intend to advance to Boatmaster licences must check their eligibility for that with the Maritime Services Division, MOWT.
This program will provide the fundamentals of vessel operations related to, for example, crew boats operating in the Gulf of Paria. It aims to give participants operational knowledge of that type of vessel operation and interacting with passengers.
Successful candidates will be able to contribute to the implementation of shipboard emergency plans and procedures to muster and evacuate passengers and assist passengers en route to muster and embarkation stations. Candidates will be able to organise shipboard emergency procedures, optimise the use of resources, control response to emergencies, control passengers and other personnel during emergency situations, as well as, establish and maintain effective communications.

Students need their brain, their attention span and a device to access the Learning Management System..
On completion of the first part of the lesson, learners will be able to describe how safety information is given to passengers on boarding, and what activities are involved in vessel familiarisation..
On completion of this lesson, learners will be able to describe the responsibilities of seafarers to the passengers.

Candidates participate in oral discussions with the tutor describing the risk assessment of passenger behaviour in emergencies.
Candidates have access to online videos and documents to support the oral discussions. Candidates must get 70% in all the formative MCQ tests to pass this part of the programme.
You must record at least 70% in both assessments to get the unit credit.
