Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of 12 months of seagoing service.
Evidence of one (1) year of service on ocean going or near trade vessels of over 500 gross tons must be presented.
Applicant must meet the physical examination requirements for an officer's certificate of competency.
The physical examination should be completed within the 12 months immediately preceding application with the results noted on a Physical Examination Report.
