RISK OF COLLISION, GIVE WAY, STAND ON

In this course learners find out how to describe the direction of object relative to the boat they are on. Learners are introduced to some key terms used in the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea. Learners find out how to determine if risk of collision exists. Learners find out how to determine which vessel should take action if risk of collision exists. Learners find out how to take action to avoid collision when risk of collision exists. To complete this lesson, a candidate must get 70% from 11 MCQs after watching 5 videos, including:
• Relative bearings
• Introduction to collision prevention regulations
• Risk of collision

BUOYAGE

On successful completion of this course, learners will be able to interpret the guidance and warnings provided by buoys and beacons around Trinidad to navigate the vessel away from dangers and in and out of ports safely. To complete this lesson, a candidate must get 70% from 8 MCQs after watching 3 videos:
• Cardinal marker buoys
• Isolated danger buoys
• Navigational channel buoys
